Earth-first IT consultancy · Launceston, Tasmania
We help small environmental groups, NGOs, and not-for-profits thrive through technology — built to last, built to matter.
What partners are saying
What we do
From small environmental collectives to registered not-for-profits — we provide the technology backbone you need to focus on what truly matters.
Who this is for
Small environmental and climate advocacy groups, Landcare-style volunteer collectives, registered NGOs and not-for-profits, and grassroots community organisations — anyone doing important work without a dedicated IT person on the team.
How we work
A conversation about your mission, your constraints, and what's already working — or not.
A thorough look at your current systems to identify risks, inefficiencies, and hidden opportunities.
Clear, prioritised recommendations matched to your budget, capacity, and timeline — no jargon.
Hands-on delivery and migration, done carefully and with minimal disruption to your day-to-day work.
Documentation and training so your team can own and maintain things confidently, long after we've left.
Pro-bono services
A thorough assessment of your current infrastructure — identifying risks, inefficiencies, and hidden opportunities. You receive a clear, actionable report with prioritised recommendations.
ComplimentaryModernise and streamline your day-to-day IT: membership databases, secure hosting, mailing lists, authentication, and everything in between. We leave your systems better than we found them.
ComplimentaryEquip your team with the skills and confidence to own and maintain your IT systems long after we've left. We design training around real workflows, not hypotheticals.
ComplimentaryCommercial services
For organisations outside the NGO category, or those needing more intensive support, we offer tailored commercial IT engagements — robust, scalable, and aligned with your long-term goals.
Design and implement systems built specifically for your organisation's needs and workflows.
Ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and support — so your systems stay secure and operational.
Optimised hosting, databases, and cloud tooling for efficiency and long-term resilience.
Planning, risk management, and future-proofing guidance for your IT investments.
Who we are
Founded in 2025 and based in Launceston, Tasmania, Terra Eclectic is an earth-first IT consultancy that believes technology should respect ecological boundaries — not erode them.
Our values
We approach every challenge by considering the full picture — technological, ecological, and social dimensions together, not in isolation.
Our decisions account for future generations and the non-human world. The scope of our responsibility extends far beyond the immediate problem.
Recommendations grounded in evidence, not convention. We follow the data and correct course when the data demands it.
Purposeful design at every layer. We resist default solutions and ask whether each choice truly serves the mission.
We prioritise durable, maintainable, forward-thinking solutions. Technology that still works well in a decade is far more valuable than what merely works today.

Principal Consultant
Lauchlin is a seasoned IT systems engineer with over 25 years of experience designing highly resilient, long-lasting IT systems for organisations of every scale.
He combines deep technical expertise with a genuine commitment to ecological responsibility — believing that the best systems are those that endure, that teach, and that leave the world a little more capable than they found it.
Based in Launceston, Tasmania, Lauchlin draws on a lifetime in the natural landscapes of the island to inform his philosophy: systems thinking inspired by the adaptive, resilient networks found in nature itself.
